Purpose: to develop a competency model for managers. A clearly agreed set of leadership principles will help the organisation to set expectations for managers and to develop their competences in a systematic way. The competency model reflects the organisation’s broader values and strategic goals. For the workshop to be a success, it is important to explain the purpose of the project to managers early on. This will encourage their cooperation and motivation to participate.

Workshop participants: Managers

Workshop format: the workshop will last 4-6 hours. Prior to the workshop, Tripod will prepare worksheets of possible competencies, with input from corporate values or other documents describing the principles in use in the organisation. Participants in the workshop will discuss and decide which principles describe the competences that are important for managers. Participants will work in small groups or as the full group. After the workshop, Tripod will make the final necessary improvements and the competency model will be validated with the client.

Outcome of the workshop: a jointly agreed competency model for managers with descriptions of competencies or performance indicators.
